The city names and USPS codes come from the USPS City State file. We match each ZIP code to Census population and household data, income and home value, telephone area codes, time zones and elevation, then post fresh files every month.

What is in the Zip Code USA database?
Every USPS ZIP code with its city names from the USPS City State file, plus county and county FIPS, latitude and longitude, telephone area codes, time zone, elevation, square miles, population, households, persons per household, race/ethnicity counts, household income and house value. The full file lists a ZIP code once for each city name it can carry, so alternate city names are included.
What formats does it come in?
Comma Delimited ASCII (opens in Excel and imports into any database), Fixed Length ASCII (TXT) and Dbase (DBF). You get all three for Zip Code USA and all three for Zip Code USA Jr: six files each month.
How often is it updated?
Every month. New files are posted on the Downloads page; the current edition is October 2026.

What is Zip Code USA Jr?
Zip Code USA Jr is the “No Duplicate Zip Codes With Standardized City Names” file: one row per ZIP code (41,517 ZIP codes in the October 2026 file). It is included with every subscription.
Can I open it in Excel?
Yes. The comma-delimited file opens directly in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice, and imports into Access, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and other databases.
Does it include latitude and longitude?
Yes, LAT and LNG with 4 decimal places. Longitude is stored without the minus sign (west longitude for the 50 states).
How do I get the files after paying?
